With a hint of "Burton Snatch" (the characteristic sulphur from the local water) this is a traditional Burton Ale.

Double Brown Ale

Drizzle

Drizzle
1043.5 og, ABV 4.2%

Brewed using natural fresh lemons and their zest this amazing blonde beer is a real thirst quencher. With the addition of honey malt from Germany and Concorde, a development hop from Alsace, which we found to be amazingly spicy with hints of wild honey sweetness. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Hodgson's Solution India Ale

Hodgson's Solution India Ale
1060 og, ABV 5.9%

Strong and slightly sweet export pale ale. Our interpretation of the early export beer from Hodgson's brewery in Bow, East London.

Hyperbole

Hyperbole
ABV 4.4%

Brewed to showcase the wonderful Willamette hop, with a smidge of Bullion and Mount Hood for good measure. Instead of the usual "choicest hops" and "finest malt" stuff, we've left it to the beer to do the talking.

Continues this year's (unintended) theme of giving beers names that are often mispronounced. Try "High-per-burr-lee"!

Jack Spitty

ABV 4.3%

First brewed for the Colchester Winter Beer Fest 2015 for their graveside bar! Dark bitter with balanced malt and hop packed with American aroma.

Pogonophobia

Pogonophobia
ABV 3.8%

Very pale ale packed with the full flavours of four hops from Washington State's Yakima Valley. Rather like garlic and vampires, it's believed by some (but not many) that this beer is just the trick for those wishing to ward off bearded men (or women).

Pontisbright

Pontisbright
1042.5 og, ABV 4.0%

Dark Red American Hopped. "Pontisbright" is the old name for Chappel, the next village to us with the railway viaduct, and of course the home of the famous Chappel Beer Festival.

Romani Ite Domum

Romans
1045 og, ABV 4.3%

Brewed to celebrate the Colchester beer festival 2013 and in honour of the sterling work done by Colchester CAMRA volunteers. Hoppy, golden beer. The Latin name is a bit of a mouthful so it is often just known as "Romans".

Santa's Claws

Santa's claws
ABV 4.8%

Old ale with a dark and sinister malty sweetness.

Stout Monkeys

Stout Monkeys
ABV 5.1%

One off brew with The Wise Monkeys, three members of our local Colchester CAMRA. Dark, rich, strong and full of flavour with oatmeal providing a smooth mouthfeel.

Table Ale

Table Ale
ABV 3.5%

A cracking session bitter, rich amber in colour. Packed with flavour and drinking noticeably above its strength. Fuggles and goldings are blended traditionally for freshness and finish.

Trinovantes Gold

Trinovantes Gold
1044.5 og, ABV 4.3%

The Trinovantes tribe had territory on the north side of the Thames estuary in current Essex and Suffolk and land now located in Greater London. Their name derives from the Celtic intensive prefix "tri-" and "novio" - new, so meaning "very new" in the sense of "newcomers", but possibly with an applied sense of vigorous or lively - so the name could mean "the very vigorous people". Their capital was Camulodunum (modern Colchester). Golden hoppy beer, with light fruit flavour from Aurora hops giving great character.
